Write-in votes include celebrities, cartoon characters, dead people

Bristol residents followed the majority, voting to elect Hillary Clinton as president of the United States. However, some Bristol voters weren’t impressed with any candidate and had their own ideas who would be a better president.

Despite winning the popular vote, Ms. Clinton lost the presidency in the Electoral College. In Bristol, she garnered 54 percent of the vote to Donald Trump’s 38 percent. Libertarian Gary Johnson finished a distant third with 4 percent and Jill Stein finished fifth. That’s right, fifth… falling even behind the write-in votes, which collectively earned 2.2 percent of the Bristol vote.

Some Bristol voters cast protest votes for a legitimate candidate for office. Others perhaps spent their vote for a laugh, casting ballots for some who have long past away, celebrities, and even some they created in their minds. The write-in votes include:
